In today’s world, both in the East and the West, the foundation of the modern university has its origins in Greece. Western-style universities are very popular all over the world, but there is not yet a university that has been able to truly integrate the great ideas of East and West. So we see a world where there is still a divide between the great ideas of the East and the great ideas of the West, between the modern and the ancient.

We hope to have a university that combines the best of East and West, with both the great aspects of the West, such as new technologies on outer space, mobile phones, Internet technology, big data, etc., but also with great personal insights and great human development systems, so that students can get complete and total development – this is the original intent of the establishment of Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University.

The spirit of DSEU is “Torch of Wisdom, Light for the World,” which combines the wisdom of the East and the West, as well as today’s western management principles and the classical wisdom of the East from the perspective of holistic thinking, so as to make management more efficient, cool and innovative.

In Kyoto in June 2023, we ushered in the opening ceremony of DSEU, indicating that the first pioneer class freshmen officially started a new learning career.

At the beginning of the ceremony, President Xiaoping Zhou, Guiding Founder Geshe Michael Roach, Vice President Stanley Chen, and Professor Roxanne gave their blessings for the ceremony.

Looking back at the past and looking forward to the future

President Prof. Xiaoping Zhou

Four years ago, the idea of building Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University began to gestate. In the blink of an eye, by 2022, DSEU had landed from the blueprint to reality. In April, DSEU purchased its first building in Sedona, and began its construction of the Western Campus – Sedona Campus. On May 3, DSEU was officially registered in Arizona, USA.

There is a special story I’d like to share with you. On May 3, Geshela suddenly said that we would go to Peru to see the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu. Our tourist guide said that the place, known as the City in the Sky, had been a very selected university for the elite nobility hundreds of years ago. After going down the mountain, I turned on my computer that evening and found that I received an email at past three o’clock, confirming that DSEU was registered successfully. The mail arrived just at the time when we were told that Machu Picchu had been an aristocratic university. So it was a very special beginning.

Then it came to September 26, 2022, when the founding ceremony of DSEU was officially held in Kyoto, which marked that the university was officially born. September 26 became the anniversary of the founding of DSEU.

Time flies, six months later, we are here today to hold a grand opening celebration. I personally feel the uniqueness of DSEU. We have ushered in the first pioneer class of DSEU. All of you present are brave souls, and you see with your heart the beautiful vision of integrating the modern knowledge of the West and the classical wisdom of the East. The purpose behind this vision is peace.

If we water this beautiful vision with our sincere hearts, our lives will become really beautiful, like the beauty and purity of the cherry blossoms in full bloom, and we will light up the lives of ourselves and others. As described in the motto of DSEU: Torch of Wisdom, Light for the World.

Times change and DSEU stays alive

Geshe Michael Roach, Founder of DSEU

Princeton University is my Alma mater. It has a weekly magazine for the alumni where they interview the incoming freshmen about what they have done to help the world, keep an update on each former class, and feature the life stories of deceased alumni with their photos upon their enrollment in the last few pages.

While reading the magazine, I realized that just as the metaphor “at ironclad barracks, old soldiers go away and new ones come, just like running water,” the university will welcome a new generation of students, and this cohort will age and usher in a new generation.

Like now, we will have our first class, and we will learn a lot here, but one day, all of you will have to leave this university, but the university is almost immortal, the university will continue to survive, it will continue to help every generation in the future.

This is our mission, to work together to build a university that brings together the best of East and West, that will last, that will help people, that will help the world.

Disasters and conflicts that would have occurred will be avoided

Vice President Professor Stanley Chen

Today is a very festive day. It is also the first day of much hard work and great effort ahead, and the future will be filled with all kinds of joy and tears.

There is the word “Diamond” in our university name, which represents the wisdom of emptiness in ancient Asian wisdom. Emptiness means the infinite potential in anything, which means that what it becomes depends entirely on our commitment and effort.

We have a very grand and beautiful vision for DSEU, and we believe that through the creation, birth and continuation of DSEU, all conflicts in the world can be eliminated.

This grand dream seems to be quite far away to reach, but in fact because of its “emptiness,” everything is possible.

Today is just the beginning, and in my mind I have already begun to imagine that by the great effect of today, I see all of you in the future will become more successful, powerful, and loving entrepreneurs.

I can see that even conflicts and disasters that would have occurred in the future can be avoided because of today’s efforts!

East meets West for unlimited achievements

Dr. Roxanne

Philosophers have found that connecting East and West will lead to greater wisdom and success, but no university has ever attempted such a valuable and worthy goal.

Many universities seek to bestow knowledge on students, but DSEU not only seeks to bestow knowledge and enlightenment of wisdom on students but does so to create a better world for everyone, through the efforts of each and every DSEU student. I am so honored to serve you all and be part of such a worthy vision and mission!

At the end of the opening ceremony, it was a moment of honor and sweetness. The four professors helped each pioneer class student put on the university badge, which was both an honor and a responsibility, meaning that they had officially become a member of DSEU, and that they would use the wisdom taught by DSEU with a new identity to light up themselves and others.

Geshe Michael Roach, Guiding Founder of DSEU, personally lit the fire of wisdom, which was then passed on to everyone present one by one, to send blessings to DSEU and the world, and to dedicate the torch in their hands to the world with hope and love, across space and time!

Passing on the torch to light up the world

Torch of Wisdom – Light for the World

The Legacy

Leave a light, leave a future, keep the light and beauty alive;

Pass on a piece of wisdom, pass on a piece of heart, recite hope and love;

For the sake of a bright future, we take over the torch of wisdom,

Hold the light of wisdom and pass it on from generation to generation!

DSEU is making history. This is an important day. It makes history no longer just a term. We are about to create here the beginning of the union of wisdom of the East and the West, which is happening for the first time in 2,000 years. It is the signal for the beginning of peace and success, and it is the moment for every student to reach new heights in life.

The post Creating a New Chapter in History｜The New Semester of DSEU! first appeared on Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University.

The torch of knowledge never extinguishes. And the light of wisdom illuminates the path ahead.

On May 21, 2023, the DSEU open class took place with a combination of online live streaming and offline events in 12 cities. The theme of this open class was “Value Leadership” for EMBA and MBA courses, aiming to discuss the path to creating business leadership qualities and walking alongside the wise.

As the conference began, a wave of heartfelt emotions surged as greetings and blessings poured in from online and offline participants in the 12 cities, transcending the distances between classmates. They extended virtual handshakes to their teachers and friends from different cities, symbolizing deep connections and sharing this rare opportunity for gathering and joyful moments.

In the classroom, Geshe Michael Roach presented from different perspectives the six qualities that Western textbooks consider essential for business leaders:

Enjoying hard work and desiring success.

Being intelligent and wise.

Making decisive decisions.

Being confident.

Having self-drive.

Possessing leadership abilities.

Some of these qualities are innate for some individuals, while others need to be acquired through learning. The exciting aspect of DSEU is that it will create for you the business leadership qualities that you don’t possess naturally.

DSEU hopes that when students leave the university, they will have acquired qualities they didn’t possess before, encompassing all the traits of a business leader. This will empower their future success and bring extraordinary meaning to changing the world.

This means that students cultivated by DSEU will transform from being self-centered to caring about others and society. They will master the hard skills of business and become individuals who appreciate happiness, enjoy fun, and maintain a positive attitude. They will also possess a global perspective where their success is intertwined with the success of the world and their prosperity is connected to the prosperity of the world. The students joining the first pioneer class will be developed into individuals who contribute 100% to the betterment of the world.

President Zhou mentioned that DSEU is a university that integrates the essence of both Eastern and Western cultures. The uniqueness of DSEU’s EMBA and MBA courses lies in their foundation in thousands of years of classical knowledge, a fusion of Eastern and Western traditions, innovative and great ideas, as well as crucial modern business school knowledge. The mission of building a university is to impart ancient wisdom to young people who have graduated from high school, those pursuing MBA/EMBA courses, or even individuals in their forties and fifties. The students who graduate from DSEU will undoubtedly experience complete and comprehensive development.

This explains the special value system of DSEU, namely: the world doesn’t come towards us, it comes from within us. The university advocates values that serve others, which in reality is serving every individual, including ourselves.

Furthermore, the most important aspect of DSEU’s distinctive education is the deep and extensive exploration, including comparative analysis, physical exercise, modern classical languages, mindfulness or meditation techniques, creative elective courses, and the constant pursuit of a vision that combines Eastern and Western cultures.

In conclusion, although the event of the DSEU open class on May 21, with the participation of 12 cities, delivering the torch of world wisdom, has come to an end, the vision, strategy, and mission of DSEU have been transmitted to people through the courses. Just as Geshe Michael Roach emphasized in the open class, DSEU derives its teachings from three sources:

Ancient Western philosophical systems.

Ancient Asian classical roots.

The fusion of Eastern and Western wisdom.

By applying these three sources in combination, successful experiences, such as the creation of a diamond company in New York with an annual sales revenue of $250 million, have been realized through a thorough examination.

Therefore, DSEU is an extraordinary university where students who study here will achieve great success. It is believed that the open class on May 21 has touched the hearts of the audience, leaving them inspired by DSEU’s vision, mission, and values. The seeds of hope have been silently planted, and they will unknowingly change the entire world in the future.

The post DSEU Open Class | Advanced Management Excellence Program Course “Value Leadership” first appeared on Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University.

At the end of March 2023, during the season when cherry blossoms filled the air, DSEU, which integrates the essence of Eastern and Western cultures, began its wisdom-filled journey. The DSEU MBA/EMBA program is set to officially commence in June 2023. Guided by the founding personality, Professor Geshe Michael Roach, and DSEU President Professor Zhou Xiaoping, we were treated to a beautiful tale about DSEU in a serene and picturesque tea room in Kyoto.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

The opening ceremony at the end of March was truly grand, and we have already begun teaching some courses. The students who have been admitted to the inaugural EMBA/MBA program have filled me with excitement. They have been deeply moved by profound wisdom and have already started transforming. It is exhilarating to think about how our 20-month curriculum will impact them.

The enrollment process for DSEU is still underway, and more students will join our inaugural EMBA/MBA program. Is there any advice you would like to give to the Pioneer Class and the students of the inaugural EMBA/MBA program? How do you envision their lives and careers after 20 months?

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

When I first went to see my teacher, he was teaching in the kitchen. There were about ten students at that time, and I was one of the first students in his class. I am convinced that the essence of this wisdom is so beautiful.

I am a beekeeper, and my wife and I keep bees. Once the first batch of flowers blooms in spring, the bees get very excited, and they celebrate joyfully. You see them spending the whole winter inside the beehive, only having expired food to eat, but when the cherry blossoms bloom and the flowers on the trees open up, the bees come to the flowers and roll around in them.

To me, it seems like they’re just playing as if they’re having a beer. They roll around in the flowers as if they’re smiling, and there’s no need for anyone to advertise the beauty of the flowers.

When a few bees from the first batch discover it, they get extremely excited and quickly rush back home to tell all the other bees. Then you see the bees pouring out. In one beehive, there are eight to ten thousand bees, and it can be a bit scary. There are four or five thousand bees gathering on that tree.

I feel that DSEU is the same. It will advertise itself. I don’t think we need to worry. I believe people will feel how beautiful it is, and naturally, they will tell others. I believe wisdom is like the fragrance of a flower, and any bee will fly over to appreciate a special flower. They will come on their own.

My only concern is that people might miss the first part. The first part of the flower is the sweetest, and the initial months and years of DSEU will be the sweetest part. People will remember the beginning. Simply for that reason, I hope people will hear about it, and I hope they will tell their friends, without any coercion or advertising.

I will never forget one time when I was in Phoenix, Arizona, teaching. I had just finished a two-week course, and I went to attend a yoga class, where someone recognized me and asked, “Are you still teaching in Phoenix?” I said, “I just finished a two-week teaching session.” I remember their faces; they looked very sad. So, I think it is our responsibility to let friends know, to let people know about DSEU, but without coercion, without advertising. If they miss it, they will feel really bad. Yes, it’s a pity. That’s what I wanted to say.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

Thank you for your wholehearted dedication to DSEU, and thank you for all your wonderful teachings.

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

It was only this week that I realized I have never taught business before. I have always taught DCIG, teaching universal methods for success, but I have never taught all the details of how to do business. Now the opportunity has come, and it’s wonderful. It’s very interesting, and I think it’s helpful.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

Thank you so much for writing textbooks for DSEU.

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

For me, it’s an extra burden. I already have so much work. I thought I wouldn’t be excited about writing new books, but when I started writing, I realized they are so special. They will be very, very special textbooks. We have already written four to five books, and it’s so exhilarating. I’m excited myself.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

Yes, it’s a treasure for DSEU and the world.

Grateful to you.

At the end of March 2023, during the season of blooming cherry blossoms, the wisdom of combining Eastern and Western cultures comes alive in the DSEU lectures. The DSEU MBA/EMBA program is set to commence in June 2023. Guiding the founding personality, Professor Geshe Michael Roach, and DSEU President Professor Zhou Xiaoping, share with us the wonderful story of DSEU from the serene and beautiful tea room in Kyoto.

The academic feature of DSEU is referred to as “Deep Extension Education,” which goes beyond traditional business school curriculum design by incorporating additional elements that will shape DSEU students into outstanding entrepreneurs throughout their lives.

The most important aspect of “Deep Extension Education” is “comparison and contrast.”

For example, you will study textbooks and courses with the same standards as Harvard Business School and acquire the same standard competencies. At the same time, in your financial management course, you will also learn from the ancient Eastern and Western classical traditions, which will help you manage finances better than ordinary business school graduates.

For instance, we may delve into a few pages of great work from the Tang Dynasty, a truly prosperous era in traditional China, to extract advice on managing corporate finances without competitive emotions. This will liberate your consciousness, allowing you to focus on greater financial success.

Zhou Xiaoping

Founder and President of DSEU

We wanted to establish DSEU because it will be a truly unique university in the world. As the guiding founder, could you please share with us the special aspects of DSEU’s curriculum?

Geshe Michael Roach

Guiding Founder of DSEU

Why is DSEU’s curriculum design so special? I have pondered this question for many years. As I sat with my students and explained it to them, the answer to this question became clearer and clearer.

We have the Eastern world, and we have the Western world. First, this world has the traditional culture from Socrates, which we call Greco-Roman culture, representing the Western world. Second, this world has the traditional culture from the East. You see, we are sitting in a Tang Dynasty-style tea room, and behind us is the famous Tang Dynasty Great Wild Goose Pagoda.

Yes, on the right side, we have Greece and Rome, and on the left side, we have great professors from China and India. The left side represents the East, and the right side represents the West.

In the first class at DSEU, I clearly saw how we were integrating the East and the West, and they were coming together in this university. Furthermore, there is another integration in the curriculum design of DSEU, which is the combination of the modern and the classical.

The Western classical period, which can be traced back approximately 2000 years ago or even 1000 years before that, you can say it is the classical period of Western thought. On this foundation, we incorporate Eastern wisdom.

We draw from the essence of the East and the West. We combine the best ancient professors from the East and the West with the best modern professors from the East and the West. These four aspects are all splendid, and it is an incredible combination.

In the past few days, as I have witnessed the students’ reactions to these two integrated teachings and the profound impact they have had on them, I feel extremely excited about this university.

/ Wisdom Unveiled /

In late March 2023, amidst the blooming cherry blossoms, DSEU, a fusion of Eastern and Western cultural essence, embarked on its journey of wisdom. The inaugural classes of the DSEU MBA/EMBA program are set to commence in June 2023. Guided by the founding persona, Professor Geshe Michael Roach, and the university president, Professor Zhou Xiaoping, the serene and picturesque tea room in Kyoto served as the backdrop for their captivating narration of DSEU remarkable tale.

About the future of DSEU

President Zhou Xiaoping:

Professor Geshe Michael Roach, greetings! As the guiding figure behind DSEU, how do you envision the future of the university?

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

Having personally founded several different organizations, I have cherished memories of their early days. During the initial stages, I couldn’t foresee their vibrant growth and significance. However, many of these organizations did flourish into large entities, achieving tremendous success.

With the establishment of DSEU, I can sense that it is like a small fire igniting in a dry forest, destined to rapidly spread. Although I cannot predict the future, I do feel that exciting things are on the horizon. Whether it’s the founding philosophy, the wisdom, or the integration with the Western educational system, I believe people have resonated with these concepts.

I feel that the Western education system has gradually become dry, tasteless, and lacking innovation. DSEU, on the other hand, is injecting fresh blood into other universities and is set to become a mainstream exemplar.

For decades, we have dedicated ourselves to collecting classical texts, preserving wisdom, and digitizing these texts. We have also embarked on translation and scholarly study. However, our bottleneck has been the inability to widely disseminate this knowledge and allow the masses to apply wisdom in modern life.

I believe the President can explore various strategies to break through this bottleneck. But how can we unlock this constraint? In reality, it requires extensive training. Both students and faculty need rigorous training in studying classical wisdom. This training itself is an arduous task undertaken by the university. Whether it’s studying classics or passing down wisdom, you will discover that the deeper you delve into the curriculum, the sweeter it becomes, and the greater contribution it can make. In the future, we must continue to help people acquire the ability to study classical texts and understand the principles contained within them. This is a far-reaching endeavor, and our responsibilities are great.

“Diamond Cutter” is the first book translated by the Mix Nut team, and we consider it the most important. I believe that with these classical texts, we can attract many special individuals to come here. They will be drawn to these concepts and the wisdom they encapsulate. They are the special and extraordinary people that the university will attract.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

So, what makes someone special? What kind of talent will our university attract?

Professor Geshe Michael Roach :

Those who yearn for wisdom are truly exceptional individuals. In today’s age, the online world is filled with temptations, and most people spend eight hours a day glued to their phones, immersed in the virtual realm. However, there is a small group of people in this world whose hearts long for wisdom. It’s a profound desire that has been ingrained in them since childhood. They yearn to seek something more significant, profound, and beautiful. These individuals are rare.

Our university will act like a magnet, attracting these exceptional talents. They are highly sensitive and exceptionally intelligent, and they will be moved by what our university has to offer.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

They will come to our university?

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

Yes, as we sit here in this tea room with a distinct Tang Dynasty style, I don’t believe it’s a coincidence. This morning, we held the first class of DSEU here, and it wasn’t something we planned in advance. As we were searching for a venue, they mentioned that this tea house was available, and we ended up settling there. I believe it’s not a coincidence but rather because we are deeply drawn to the Tang Dynasty.

The Tang Dynasty thrived because people had a deep longing for the wisdom brought back from distant lands. Behind us stands the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, where these classical wisdom texts were translated. I believe similar things will happen here.

From March 27th to 29th, 2023, during the magnificent cherry blossom season, DSEU presented the world with a “Gift of Wisdom” in the historic city of Kyoto, known for its millennium-old heritage.

This event also marked the inaugural ceremony of DSEU’s pioneering EMBA and MBA classes. As the first batch of admitted students and friends from around the world gathered online, they witnessed the formal commencement of this university that integrates the essence of Eastern and Western cultures, sharing its timeless wisdom.

“DSEU is like cherry blossoms. The fragrance of cherry blossoms attracts more people to come closer, and the classic wisdom of DSEU will also attract more people to join. The power of classic wisdom itself is remarkable,” said Geshe Michael Roach.

What makes DSEU’s EMBA and MBA programs unique? Let’s listen to Geshe Michael Roach’s explanation.

The uniqueness of DSEU’s EMBA and MBA programs

When asked about the uniqueness of DSEU’s EMBA and MBA programs, I must honestly say that if they weren’t truly unique, I wouldn’t have been interested in getting involved in this project. After all, establishing a large-scale global university is an incredibly challenging endeavor. However, what makes me extremely proud is that I am very certain that our programs are unique, our approach is unique, and our faculty team is unique.

Firstly, let’s delve into the specific courses offered in the EMBA and MBA programs. Our curriculum is unlike any other found in any university worldwide. You won’t find the courses we provide anywhere else in the world. It is an exceptionally unique curriculum that combines the essence of both Eastern and Western knowledge. Moreover, through studying these courses, you can obtain an authentic MBA or EMBA certification.

Secondly, you’ll gain additional benefits beyond just the degree. You will learn the synthesis of great ideas from both the Eastern and Western worlds. I like to say to my friends, “Look! About 600 years ago, people discovered that the world is round. Can you believe it?” Indeed, the world is not just America or China; the world is round. We exist in both the East and the West.

Unique Aspect 1: Rooted in Classics

What sets us apart is that we draw upon the timeless wisdom of classical knowledge that spans thousands of years. We strive to integrate the traditions, innovations, and great ideas from both the Eastern and Western realms. Furthermore, we incorporate modern knowledge, which is crucial in the business world. Hence, we encompass a holistic approach that encompasses both the East and the West, the modern and the classical, ensuring that we have everything in place.

Unique Aspect 2: In-depth Extension Education

Curriculum Selection

Firstly, when it comes to curriculum selection, all the founders of the university, regardless of being Asian or Western, share a common characteristic: we all have successful entrepreneurial experiences.

Personally, I have found one of the world’s largest diamond and jewelry companies, which was acquired by Warren Buffett when its annual sales reached $250 million. Ms. Zhou Xiaoping, the president of DSEU, and Mr. Chen Tang, the vice president, have also established their own highly successful enterprises. Our curriculum is designed to provide the knowledge necessary to become entrepreneurs. All EMBA and MBA courses follow a strict logical sequence in their design. Since we are all experienced entrepreneurs who have gone through the hardships of starting businesses, we understand the correct logical order of courses and the essential knowledge needed to become an entrepreneur. Therefore, decisions regarding which course to take first, which to take later, whether to include or exclude certain courses, and whether to add new ones are fundamental and significant. Our ability to make these decisions is based on real precedents of our business success and our extensive experience spanning six to seven decades.

In-depth Extension Education

Secondly, we offer in-depth extension education. I like to compare in-depth extension education to the seasoning in a meal; we provide delicious, healthy, and nutritious main courses. The main courses alone already offer an excellent business degree, but we also provide additional “side dishes” to make our curriculum stand out.

Regarding these additional “side dishes,” I will introduce them from the following six aspects:

First, “comparison and contrast.”

In every course, we emphasize “comparison and contrast.” What does comparison mean? Let’s say an outstanding Chinese businessperson visits a factory in the United States, carefully observing and seeking to understand the advantages of the business or what they can learn from the company. This is a comparison. When I was in the diamond and jewelry business in the past, I traveled to many countries, often on business trips of around three weeks. I still keep my work reports from that time and enjoy reading them from time to time. I would visit factories in South Asia or Europe and spend two weeks observing how they operate on the production line. This is a comparison. We compare the great ideas of the East and the West, as well as the modern and classical.

At the same time, we also engage in contrast. What does contrast mean? “Hey, maybe this is better than that. If we adopt systems from other industries, this industry’s system could become easier to manage. Or maybe we can borrow the strengths of other ideas in terms of cognition and business systems, some of which may have a history of a thousand years. Because we focus not only on the East and the West but also on the modern and the classical.

I believe our approach of “comparison and contrast” is unique worldwide.

Second, “Physical Exercise.”

We strongly encourage students to maintain good health. We have studied different systems, both Asian and Western. Personally, I have a good background in Western sports. I was a member of the Princeton University rowing team and later studied for many years at ancient universities in the Himalayan region. Our teachers taught us to exercise our bodies, practice yoga, and maintain good physical shape. I believe this is something truly unique. We place great emphasis on taking care of our bodies for the long term, ensuring that we remain healthy and energetic for many years to come.

If you want to achieve long-term business success, there is one very important thing you must do: you have to work and not be bedridden. When I was working in New York, I rarely took sick leave. We must pay serious attention to our physical and mental health.

Third, “Modern and Classical Languages.”

If you have traveled to many places, even if you only landed at another airport or strolled in a foreign city, you would have seen different ways of doing things and learned many things. For example, I remember my trip to Brazil, where I went to purchase various types of gemstones. I visited offices in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, as well as small offices in Teresópolis and Belo Horizonte. I learned a lot from each place.

When you meet people from other countries, you engage in conversations using a foreign language, which expands your thinking. This morning, I was reading a book written 300 years ago in the Himalayan region, and it was extremely exciting. I learned a lot from it. We encourage everyone to learn another language.

We do not expect everyone to become masters of a particular classical language, but we sincerely encourage everyone to learn. To understand new concepts that our country or era may not have, we need to learn new vocabulary. Using these special words fluently, just like learning new words for computer devices, greatly expands our thinking.

Fourth, “Mindfulness or Meditation Techniques.”

At DSEU, we attach great importance to the cultivation and exercise of focus and concentration. We engage in interesting and exciting exercises to improve focus and the ability to concentrate our consciousness on a problem. If you regularly practice these exercises, you will develop strong concentration skills, and your consciousness will become more powerful. This will help you solve business problems, medical problems, legal problems, or even philosophical problems.

Undoubtedly, the internet and smartphones have somewhat weakened people’s ability to sustain attention and concentrate. Therefore, we teach students simple techniques to improve their focus and concentration. Through such training, you will be able to face very difficult personal and business problems, allowing you to focus your attention on the problem and come up with excellent solutions.

Fifth, “Creative Elective Courses.”

With the development of DSEU, we hope to incorporate the customized learning experience that benefited me greatly at Princeton University. At that time, I was studying Russian at Princeton, and I wanted to spend time researching Russian works on Asia. However, none of the other students at the university were interested in that. So, I went to the Dean of Studies with a suggestion.

I asked, “Can I design a course and recommend it to a professor, convincing them to supervise me in completing a course that involves reading Asian classical texts in Russian?” The Dean replied, “Yes! You can give it a try!” That was the Princeton spirit during my time there, and it was truly amazing.

The school agreed to let me choose a professor and persuade them to set goals with me. Then, at regular intervals, the school would review my progress. If I passed, I would receive credits, and once I completed the required credits, I could graduate.

So, I did just that, and I succeeded. I always feel that it was one of the most precious experiences of my life.

DSEU may not be able to achieve this immediately, but we believe it can be done in the future. To develop a strong team of professors, we need to develop a methodology to deliver this customized experience, which will definitely become our unique feature and commitment. As DSEU grows and expands, we will strive to achieve this goal and commitment as soon as possible.

Sixth，”Sustaining a Vision that Unites East and West.”

My current career has branches in many countries. When you have branches globally and start engaging with other cultures, and interacting with business professionals from different cultural backgrounds, both you and they inevitably become stronger.

All founding members of DSEU have already made arrangements for projects that unite the East and the West because we believe they can truly help the world. That’s why we call it a vision that sustains the union of the East and the West. “Sustaining” means we will not give up. We genuinely encourage students, especially those pursuing MBA and EMBA degrees, to engage with other cultures and business professionals.

We want our students to have the willingness and ability to collaborate with people from around the world. We believe this will create successful businesses and foster a global sense of intimate cooperation rather than tension. In the long run, through such collaborations, we can avoid destroying the world because if that were to happen, nothing else would matter.

We must talk about this from time to time. I believe that as a responsible university founder, one must constantly reflect on the fact that no matter what we teach or learn, if it does not contribute to fostering collaboration among nations, all universities will perish, and all countries will disappear. This is not a theory or a mere possibility; it is something that can very well happen. A responsible university must take action to collaborate with people from around the world to ensure the well-being of the world and enable us to continue engaging in business activities in the future.

These are the six key points of “Deeply Expanding Education” that set us apart, and I believe they are the reasons why DSEU is truly unique.

The post Direct Access to DSEU | Unique EMBA/MBA Program first appeared on Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University.

March in Kyoto is a world of cherry blossoms. Each blossom, each cluster, paints a picture of early spring like a rosy cloud. According to “The Great Encyclopedia of Sakura,” cherry blossoms are native to the Himalayas. They were brought to Japan by the Japanese envoy to Tang Dynasty China and became the national flower of Japan. The history of cherry cultivation and distribution for over 2,000 years also represents a history of global cultural exchange.

At the end of March 2023, during this season of abundant cherry blossoms, the Diamond Silk Road Entrepreneurship University, which combines the essence of Eastern and Western cultures, commenced its wisdom-sharing. The DSEU MBA/EMBA program is scheduled to officially begin in June 2023. Guided by the esteemed founding personality, Professor Geshe Michael Roach, and DSEU President Professor Zhou Xiaoping, a serene and beautiful tea house in Kyoto becomes the setting for them to share the wonderful story of DSEU.

President Zhou Xiaoping:

“Professor Geshe Michael Roach, as the cherry blossoms bloom, DSEU is celebrating its grand opening. Could you share your thoughts on this occasion?”

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

“I feel absolutely fantastic! It’s my first time visiting Japan during the cherry blossom season, and this trip to Kyoto has been truly wonderful. I believe that holding the inauguration ceremony during this season holds significant meaning.”

President Zhou Xiaoping:

“Could you elaborate on that?”

Professor Geshe Michael Roach:

“When all the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, they not only provide a visual feast but also emit a delightful fragrance as you approach the trees. The Japanese people are fascinating; they dress up in their finest attire and stroll alongside the cherry blossom trees. The ladies wear beautiful kimonos, and the gentlemen wear outerwear over their kimonos. They truly enjoy walking around the cherry blossoms.”

“I initially thought that for the locals, who see cherry blossoms every year, it wouldn’t be a novelty anymore. However, to my surprise, they still come out enthusiastically to appreciate the blossoms. Today, I witnessed them joyfully walking up and down the streets, thoroughly enjoying themselves. So, I feel that the first class at DSEU is just like the blooming flowers. The door of wisdom should open in beautiful surroundings.”

“Just look at this room, it’s beautiful, and the tea house is beautiful too, not to mention the beautiful people present. Of course, our professors will be even more wonderful and exciting. I believe that the commencement of the courses should be like the blossoming of cherry flowers, exuding a fragrant and abundant of wisdom that attracts people in droves. I am confident that the entire journey of DSEU’s development will be as marvelous as this.”

We are on the same beautiful planet.

We live under the same roof.

We are facing the same challenges.

We are creating the same future.

In any university, there must be a discussion about one topic: how to promote close cooperation and harmonious coexistence between Eastern and Western peoples. Every university must take on this responsibility: to seek common roots, common needs, and common solutions between East and West.

The vision, mission, and values of DSEU Golden Silk Entrepreneurship University are rooted in this principle. Let us now hear from DSEU’s founding personality, Geshe Michael Roach, as he introduces the university’s vision, mission, and values.

Hi, I’m Geshe Michael Roach. I would like to share with you the vision, mission, and values of DSEU.

The Vision of DSEU

When it comes to vision, it reminds me of many stories about universities. I once visited Greece and taught in Athens. I stood in the Agora marketplace, the very place where Socrates and Plato lectured. I discovered that it was the birthplace of modern universities. Sitting there, it felt incredibly exhilarating. You can still see the cave where Socrates was imprisoned and witness the impact this history has had on Western universities.

I attended Princeton University, where I excelled academically and even received the Presidential Scholars Medal from the President of the United States upon graduation. I am immensely grateful for my university experience, which I hold dear and consider life-changing, improving my life significantly.

Later on, I received a scholarship from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs to pursue a Geshi degree program at a traditional Asian university. This university has been around for six centuries, and studying there expanded my consciousness greatly. I never imagined that in this ancient Asian university, there would be so many wonderful and important research topics. It took me over twenty years to complete this degree program. I felt that I gained the best of both Western and Eastern universities.

Therefore, when we talk about the vision of DSEU, what we aim to do is to integrate the essence of both East and West. I know that many universities have Asian Studies departments and offer courses on Asian languages, but I believe these universities have not truly merged the great ideas of East and West. There still exist differences between the great Eastern and Western thoughts, as well as differences between the modern and ancient.

I studied Classical Literature at Princeton University, and some of us learned Greek or Latin classics, while another course focused on Sanskrit classics. However, we did not truly appreciate the history of knowledge and the history of great ideas. There was even a bias, assuming that modern ideas must be more profound than ancient ones. In my view, these ancient Asian concepts have existed in a vivid, healthy, and vibrant manner for two thousand years. People can still learn from them today.

If we have a university that combines the greatness of the West, such as new technologies in outer space, mobile phones, internet technology, and big data, with profound personal insights and the grand developmental systems of humanity, blending the essence of the East and West, as well as the ancient and modern, then the students nurtured there will undoubtedly experience holistic and complete development.

I believe this is the vision of DSEU.

The Mission of DSEU

Certainly, we can discuss this vision theoretically: “We will combine the great wisdom of the East with the great technical knowledge of the West. We will merge modern development with ancient ideas that have been passed down for thousands of years…” This is indeed our vision, but it is not enough. We must clarify our mission.

Mission means that we must truly bring the vision into reality. The mission of building a university requires us to teach this ancient wisdom to young people who have just graduated from high school, or those pursuing MBA/EMBA programs, or even people in their forties or fifties.

Mission and vision are different. Vision is like closing your eyes and saying, “Oh, maybe this is possible, maybe we can do this.” The mission is about how you will achieve it. How will you educate people? How can you integrate the great visions of the East and West, ancient and modern, into a person’s thinking? How can you truly create a practical education system that allows people to study MBA/EMBA programs, law courses, medical courses, and more? The mission is about how you will change people’s hearts. How do you plan to change their inner character and habits? This is a great mission.

Our mission is reflected in the name of the university. I know it is an unusual name, and we discussed it for a long time before making this difficult decision. Because the name may sound a bit unusual, we don’t want people to think that we are not serious or that we haven’t laid a solid foundation in traditional education. But we took the risk and named this university “JinDa Silk Road Entrepreneurship University,” and each part of this name has a significant meaning.

“Diamond” represents the oldest printed book in the world, the “Diamond Cutter” which was discovered in the Dunhuang Caves in China. We believe that this 2,500-year-old book and the great ideas contained within it are revolutionary guiding principles that bring success to people’s lives and the world. Therefore, we included the word “Diamond” in the name of the university.

“Silk” refers to the Silk Road. For over a thousand years, it served as a channel for better communication and the spread of new products. Today, we have airplanes and ships, but we lack the spirit of the Silk Road. The Silk Road is a spirit where people were willing to spend three months traveling from Italy to China to see a new world, and gain new ideas, trade products, trade literature, and trade wisdom. We want to incorporate this feeling of the Silk Road into the name of our university.

“Entrepreneur” means that we want to foster an entrepreneurial spirit not only in business disciplines but also in fields such as medicine, law, philosophy, history, literature, languages, sciences, and any other academic department. We want the spirit of the university to be filled with creativity and innovation. We want to showcase the spirit of entrepreneurs, not just cultivate senior managers who do the same thing every day. We need innovation. We hope to have a spirit of seeking new solutions and new ideas to create a better world.

Lastly, of course, DSEU is a university. We still retain the best aspects of traditional Western universities. Indeed, the Western universities that have spread throughout the world are a great invention, and we all benefit from them. Many developments in this world have come from this magnificent kitchen called “university.”

The Values of DSEU

We have a unique value system that sets us apart. Among our faculty and staff are some of the finest scholars who study both Western classical literature and the traditions of ancient Asian literature. Within this tradition, there is a fascinating theme that can be summarized as follows: the world doesn’t come towards us, it comes from within us.

For instance, if you raise a pen, what you see actually comes from the imprints in your consciousness. It is not from outside to inside but from inside to outside. Although this is just a perspective, a philosophical concept, it also prompts us to consider the following questions: How do you plant these seeds in human consciousness? How do these imprints within consciousness influence our careers and the success in our lives? How are these imprints deposited into the human mind?

Within this ancient wisdom tradition, there is a strong moral component. One important aspect is that if you try to use the same energy that helps you to help others, it will bring about fundamental and beneficial changes throughout the world. This actually impacts your experiences beyond that particular moment.

Therefore, we aspire to promote such a value system within the university: if the purpose of education is to live a more successful life, have a fulfilling family, become a more productive individual, and contribute to society, then it is crucial to understand that all the related factors—our families, our businesses, our health, and so on—ultimately depend on our willingness to help and serve others.

We aim to advocate a value system that states: if the world succeeds, I also succeed, if the world prospers, I too can prosper. We want to promote this value system not only in our own towns, not only within our own families, not only within our own countries, but also across the East and West.

Without this attitude, we won’t have a truly successful or happy world.

This is the value system we seek to promote within the university—that serving others is, in fact, serving everyone, including ourselves. We cannot neglect our own well-being or happiness by sacrificing them for the sake of others’ happiness.

If we can instill an attitude in the university that the purpose of education is to foster a world that is successful, healthy, and peaceful—both in the East and the West—then that is true education, that is the value of education.

This is the reason for creating this university, the reason we are so committed to building it, and the purpose for which future students come here.

This is the vision, mission, and values of DSEU.

Welcome to join DSEU!

On March 11, 2023, DSEU held the first information session for enrollment of the inaugural class of the Classic EMBA/MBA program. Geshe Michael Roach, the senior co-founder of DSEU, and Zhou Xiaoping, the founder and president of DSEU, provided answers to the commonly asked questions during the session.

Q: What kind of students is DSEU Jinda cultivating?

The answer to this question should not remain at a vague description, but should establish measurable and trackable goals. It means that a student should be a different person upon entering and graduating from university. I believe that is the goal of a university.

Similar to a raw stone in the hands of Michelangelo, entering DSEU and being sculpted by professors will shape students into successful individuals. In my vision, students graduating from DSEU Jinda with a degree should not only receive a diploma but also become better individuals with outstanding character. That is the goal we strive for in establishing and working towards the university.

Of course, students pay tuition and invest their time, and they should earn their degree through hard work. However, as people who establish and manage the university, as well as teach students, we also do not want to waste time. What we hope to see the most is students entering DSEU Jinda with great expectations for the future, and leaving with significant progress.

If individuals who enter the university do not undergo substantial changes upon leaving, I fail to see the meaning behind our efforts, time, and financial investments.

We want those who enter the university to experience transformation, to improve their lives, and to contribute to improving the lives of others. This is the fundamental principle we envision. Therefore, through thorough discussions, we have identified six different ways to bring about change in our students. It is worth mentioning that discussing the six different ways to transform students is one thing, while developing a system that can effectively evaluate or measure our success is another.

Have we improved their lives? Have we helped them prepare for a lifetime of personal and professional endeavors or utilize any skills we have taught them? This is the first point we need to consider. I will use the formula known as “be A, not B” to evaluate this. “Be A, not B” means they come in one way, but we want them to become another way, not how they were when they arrived. Although these changes may be difficult to precisely measure, we must relentlessly strive for them.

Now, the key question is, what kind of changes do we truly want to see in our students?

First, prioritize the public over oneself.

Based on my life experiences and my time at Princeton University, the majority of young people entering college at the age of 17 or 18 have one common trait—they are self-centered. Most of their time is spent thinking about themselves, especially those of us who excelled in high school and consistently scored well on various university exams. I myself achieved the highest scores in the state during the college entrance exams. They are seen as academic overachievers, but they primarily focus on their own achievements and show little concern for the accomplishments of others.

Therefore, what I hope for is to regard these outstanding students entering DSEU as excellent raw materials. We don’t need to eliminate the intelligence and sharp self-centered energy they already possess; instead, we should refine it and help them become even better individuals. Rather than destroying their original energy, it should be further developed so that they begin to pay attention to the success and happiness of others.

I believe that one of our goals is to change our students’ attitudes toward life by the time they complete their degree programs. Their focus should no longer be solely on themselves but on broader society and a larger population. Their aspiration should be to grow and excel while creating greater value for society.

Second, master practical business skills rather than confining oneself to business theories.

I hope that DSEU teaches students to acquire practical business skills. What are business hard skills? These are genuinely useful skills taught in regular business schools, such as proficiency in big data applications, financial literacy, fundraising capabilities, legal knowledge, personnel management skills, and the ability to identify excellent business partners.

We will also educate students on five different aspects of exceptional hard skills: how to find business partners, investors, employees, suppliers, and customers.

All of the above are hard skills. I want to see students become data professionals, information experts, and technology talents with genuine hard skills.

Third, creativity and innovation, not mechanization.

From my fifty years of business experience, I’ve observed two types of employees in this world. One type is the mechanized employee. They are technically skilled and proficient in handling job tasks, but they are rigid and lack creativity. They can go through a series of predetermined processes and tasks within an eight-hour workday. Even if you give them ten tasks, they can complete them all, but they won’t think about the work or find new ways to accomplish it. They will simply use the same old methods to get the job done.

This is not the talent we want to cultivate. What we truly want to cultivate is a spirit or a state of mind that brings creativity and innovation to work. We constantly focus on the process, always thinking and trying to make work more efficient, cooler, and more innovative.

Fourth, mental and physical agility, not exhaustion/dullness/disarray.

Modern society has many external factors that are reducing people’s attention spans, lowering their intelligence levels, and diminishing their sharpness and focus. Currently, obesity and poor health conditions are a global epidemic, or what can be called a “pandemic.” The obesity rate in the United States has reached 40%. Obesity does not just mean being overweight; in the US, nearly 70% of the population falls into the overweight category. Obesity guarantees that you will have diabetes and heart problems in the next ten to fifteen years.

In my opinion, we should help students improve their attention spans, clarity of consciousness, and agility in their abilities. We should help them have a healthy body. I want students to become aware of the future possibilities of monotony, fatigue, and mental turmoil and start seeking change. We will help them develop habits, educate them about habits, and enable them to have a clear, active, and alert mind while maintaining a healthy body.

Each person only has one body in their lifetime, and they only have one chance to make good use of it. I am surprised that when I was at Princeton University, we never discussed these topics about health. Therefore, at DSEU, you must have a healthy body to obtain a degree. If you earn a degree and graduate but your mind and body are not healthy, that degree won’t be of much help to you. Therefore, I believe that maintaining a healthy and agile body is an ability and state that our students should possess.

Fifth, having an international perspective rather than a narrow one.

There is a word in English called “parochial,” which is not commonly used. It means having a narrow focus on what you care about and are interested in. For example, you are only interested in your family and success, only interested in the situation of your town and country, and not interested in what is happening outside your small world. You do not care about what is happening in other states or provinces of your country, or what is happening in other countries around the world. Your focus is limited, and you only pay attention to local matters without considering the bigger picture.

I hope that the students graduating from DSEU will have a broader global perspective. This means they are interested not only in other places within their town, the prosperity of other towns, and the prosperity of other countries, but also in the prosperity of the entire world.

In recent times, we humans have developed a social system that is capable of destroying the entire world within an hour, destroying all the universities, all the books, and all the educational systems in the world.

If a country initiates a nuclear war, everything we are striving for becomes insignificant, and all education and human history lose their meaning. If we do not step out of our narrow mindset and embrace a global mindset, and if the students we educate do not understand this, I would consider our university a failure.

Sixth, being passionate about life rather than becoming jaded.

I have been teaching for nearly 50 years, and I have discovered something important that I hope all students graduating from DSEU can possess: maintaining enjoyment, happiness, curiosity, and a sense of humor.

Life is not easy for anyone. We all experience disappointment, unhappiness, and setbacks, just like every business in the world. This morning, I heard that the business volume of Google is declining, and even large companies like Apple face difficulties. Therefore, we need to cultivate in our students the ability to overcome challenges and to truly understand and practice a positive attitude towards life. Approaching life with a joyful and playful attitude is the best way to deal with it.

If our students can leave the university with this understanding, then every time they encounter setbacks or problems, they will be able to approach them with eagerness, joy, and a positive attitude. In my opinion, we would have truly cultivated perfect students.

In conclusion, the students being nurtured by DSEU are like this.

Developing from self-centeredness to concern for others and society;

Mastering hard business skills; Being consistently creative rather than mechanical;

Maintaining mental and physical agility instead of exhaustion and scattered attention;

Having a global mindset rather than a narrow mindset;

Becoming someone who appreciates joy, enjoys fun, and maintains a positive attitude.

This is truly the only path to success in the world. This is the kind of students we want to cultivate.

The post What kind of students is DSEU cultivating for the future? first appeared on Diamond Silk Entrepreneur University.

What kind of towering tree will grow from a single seed?

What kind of magical world will be created by a single thought?

Searching for the original seed of DSEU.

DSEU, is rooted in that seed.

DSEU is an internal “code name” or “nickname” within the Classical Soft Power Global CEO Class (CSP). DSEU, whose full name is “Diamond Silk Road Entrepreneurship University,” allows us to witness the magical power of a seed.

We are a fortunate group of people because we have personally witnessed and participated in the founding process of DSEU. We have witnessed the entire “magical and yet real” journey of DSEU, from the initial idea in 2019 to its official establishment in 2022. In the spring of 2023, DSEU will welcome its first batch of MBA and EMBA students in Kyoto, Japan, officially embarking on a journey to cultivate talents who possess a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western cultures, are well-versed in classics, and are committed to serving the world.

In August 2018, we entered the first cohort of the CSP class. Over the next 18 months, under the guidance of our instructors, we delved deep into mining the classics and applied them in real business practices. After graduation, we continued to volunteer in the recruitment efforts for the second and third cohorts of CSP, immersing ourselves in the CSP community. Over the past few years, the personal transformation of our classmates can be described as a “complete metamorphosis,” involving not only the accumulation of wealth and harmonious relationships but also a profound evolution and growth in our lives. What is even more important is that we have witnessed numerous incredible stories of creation and transformation unfold within the CSP community. Among them, the most “magical” story is the journey of “DSEU” starting from a mere idea and becoming a reality through planning and implementation. Throughout the history of human civilization, whether it is the rise of a kingdom or the construction of a house, it all begins with that initial thought.

Young people from around the world will venture into various fields of entrepreneurship in the future.

Why establish this university?

Why establish this university? This is our common question. The founders of DSEU—Geshe Michael Roach, Teacher Zhou Xiaoping, Teacher Chen Tang, and their team—already have multiple educational training institutions worldwide, such as DCI, ACI, YSI, CSP, where tens of thousands of people globally listen to their teachings and guidance in various ways each year. There is no shortage of educational training platforms or teachers. Without personal experience, it is difficult to fathom the immense difficulty, extensive preparation time, and overwhelming tasks involved in creating a university. Just the process of educational accreditation alone requires five to ten years, along with substantial human, material, and financial resources.

The direction of action lies in the demands of the masses. In the eyes of Geshe Michael Roach, Teacher Zhou Xiaoping, and Teacher Chen Tang, as long as there is a demand from the masses, they will do their utmost to meet it, without placing excessive importance on the difficulty of the task. In their view, love and compassion for society and the masses will inevitably translate into boundless resources and power. The teachers have told us that ancient Eastern classical wisdom can maximize the value of Western science and technology, lead more people towards personal freedom, health, and happiness, reduce conflicts, wars, and diseases in the world, and enable humanity to enjoy more harmony, tranquility, and beauty. Such a vision is worthy of our efforts.

Ancient wisdom should benefit more young people. University education serves as an important threshold for individuals, especially young people, to integrate into society and gain recognition and respect. The global worldview education system (including DCI, ACI, YSI, CSP, etc.) has not reached a large enough audience, especially failing to cater to a broader youth population. If Eastern ancient wisdom can be integrated into students’ “belief systems” during early university education, it will have a profound impact on their lives. Through the success of students and the power of role models, it will inspire more people to learn and practice this special wisdom.

The future vision of DSEU is to promote cultural exchange between the East and the West and serve young people, especially students in the early stages of entrepreneurship. With Eastern classical wisdom at its core, the university aims to help them establish belief systems and reconstruct a new business civilization that is free from competition and harm. Such a vision holds extraordinary significance for the world today and is worthy of anticipation.

Students from various cultural backgrounds communicate with each other, enhancing trust and inclusiveness.

Who is calling for the establishment of a university?

It is not the teachers, as they do not need a university.

It is us, we are the ones who need a university to pursue wisdom.

It is the world, this world needs a university to inherit wisdom.

What kind of university is DSEU?

Many people are curious about what kind of university DSEU will become.

DSEU’s distinctive feature is its global integration and collaboration. Students at DSEU come from all over the world, encompassing both Western and Eastern cultures. They have different cultural backgrounds and growth needs. Here, they learn together, communicate with each other, and foster trust and inclusiveness. Through the pursuit of wisdom and unique practical experiences, students will gain unparalleled growth experiences. The most direct transformation in learning is that students from different cultural backgrounds and regions face the same world, reducing barriers and misunderstandings while increasing trust and friendship.

Eastern classical wisdom forms the profound foundation of DSEU. DSEU not only offers various disciplines traditionally taught in universities but also introduces courses on ancient Eastern wisdom. These courses aim to provide young students with a new belief system that aligns with the laws of the universe and all things, answering deep questions about the origins and workings of the universe and how humans should live, think, and attain the best life experiences.

Training in both the body and consciousness is the most outstanding practical feature of DSEU. DSEU’s practical courses will be unique, incorporating various training methods that transform students’ bodies and consciousness. Through systematic practices such as meditation and yoga, students will attain a calmer state of consciousness and a healthier body, fundamentally transforming and elevating the form of life and increasing the degree of freedom and happiness in life.

Images spanning across time and space merge in the depths of consciousness.

Why is it us?

In 2019, the idea of establishing DSEU sprouted in the minds of the teachers, and for the past three years, we have been fortunate to be involved in the preparation process of DSEU. Many people ask: why is it us?

The answer may lie in the career blueprint of Geshe Michael Roach. For over thirty years, Geshe Michael, Teacher Chen Tang, and Teacher Zhou Xiaoping have been dedicated to seeking ancient wisdom classics globally and assembling teams to protect these classics. Over a decade ago, the three teachers established the “Pure Gold” translation team, which has since nurtured hundreds of exceptional translators from around the world, dedicating countless efforts to promote cultural exchanges between the East and the West and the global dissemination of ancient classics. In 2019, the Classic Soft Power Global Executive Program (CSP) was established and has trained over a hundred gentlemen businessmen who possess deep knowledge of Chinese traditional culture and ancient wisdom, actively safeguarding, inheriting, and developing this wisdom system from all aspects.

Is it a coincidence? From the many trajectories that have already happened and will continue, we seem to see the subtle connections that conform to the truth between things.

Is it luck? Spanning across millennia, those images from dreams, preserved deep within the consciousness in the ancient capital of Kyoto, seem to resurface once again.

We are more convinced that 2,500 years ago, the great sages sent us, this special group, a “message in a bottle,” allowing us to interpret the information about what “should have happened.”

We no longer doubt that we are that special group of people. We will spread “classic wisdom” throughout the world, benefiting and assisting various groups of people.

We firmly believe that because of this special mission and the intersection that spans across millennia, our lives will surely shine brilliantly.

The spark of our dreams is finally ignited here.

Dreams become a reality.

In Kyoto, Japan, those wonderful scenes of the Diamond Silk Entrepreneurship University become clearer and clearer. The dream has finally become a reality!

September 26, 2022, is destined to be a historic and glorious day. On this day, over 50 participants and witnesses from around the world, together with dozens of business elites, entrepreneurs, and volunteers from Japan, witnessed the inauguration ceremony of the Diamond Silk Entrepreneurship University.

Each attendee was dressed in festive attire, attentively listening to the three founders’ vision and blueprint for DSEU, personally experiencing the unique atmosphere of DSEU’s classrooms, and enjoying a magnificent feast of ideas! We are grateful to be born in this prosperous era, and we express our gratitude to our beloved teachers!

The teachers said, “The greatness of a university lies in the masters and the talents.”

The teachers also said, “The reason why a university can be established is because of a group of dedicated individuals and the perseverance of everyone’s hearts. With determination, ideals can be realized!”

We no longer worry because we are guided by the wise along the way. We no longer hesitate because we have had the privilege of participating in this great endeavor. What will be the most valuable legacy we leave for future generations in this lifetime? It must be every bit of effort we put into the construction of DSEU.
